COVID-19 Information Center

Jesus taught that loving our neighbors is the fulfillment of the law. The Good Shepherd’s pandemic policies are based on this teaching of love. Learn how we’re adapting to carry out our mission during the pandemic while taking care to protect our community.

Current Status

Here is the current Community Risk Level for Allegheny County using Covid Act Now, our CDC recommended tool for monitoring pandemic trends, as well as our current precautions:

The office is open Monday through Friday – please see our published hours. Anyone entering the church building must follow posted instructions. Please see our policy page to learn how we make decisions about our COVID status.

Our Church Is Open

We want to clear up some rumors – the Church is always open, even if sometimes we have to close the doors to our building for safety’s sake.

Worship

In-person Worship Services will be held each Sunday. Service will be in the Sanctuary but if weather permits, on the second Sunday of the warmer months an outdoor service will be held at the Gazebo.  Each Sunday we are offering Holy Communion.

Worship will continue to be offered online, as always – it’s easy to join us.

The Good Shepherd offers all of our worship services live and for later viewing any time on our YouTube channel. You can also join us using Zoom or just by dialing a phone number – no computer or smartphone required!

Instructions for joining us online

We understand that everyone has a different level of tech comfort. We promise that it’s simple to join us – we’ve got step-by-step instructions to help you out.

Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer is a daily program of prayer, scripture and hope produced by The Good Shepherd during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can view Daily Prayer on our YouTube channel, or subscribe to our audio podcast and have it automatically delivered to your phone every day.

Community Groups

The Good Shepherd is home to many clubs and organizations in the Monroeville area. We are pleased to welcome community groups and organizations back to our building after many months of restrictions due to covid!

  • There are currently no covid restrictions on what type of group may meet in our building.
  • There are currently no restrictions regarding vaccination status.
  • All individuals are asked to follow the mask policy of the current status while in the building.
  • Food and drink may be enjoyed while in the building.

How We Make Decisions

The church council has adopted a detailed policy describing which indicators we will be monitoring during the pandemic and how we will respond to any developments.
